Comedian Kapil Sharma, who recently found himself at the centre of a controversy, has on Friday attempted to calm the uproar over a bribery issue he started.

Sharma, who on Friday morning, had alleged that a BMC official has demanded a Rs 5 lakh bribe for the construction of his new office, has now said that he had just voiced his concern on corruption and did not mean to blame any political party.

On Friday morning, Kapil had tweeted: “Yeh hain aapke achhe din?” to PM Narendra Modi which invited a lot of backlash from several political parties including BJP, Shiv Sena and MNS. ALSO READ: BMC Hits Back At Kapil Sharma; Declares Construction Illegal

He had also tweeted to Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, who, in reply, stretched out a helpful hand and asked Sharma to provide more information.

Later during the day, the tables turned when the BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) alleged that the under-construction office was illegal. The BMC had also unveiled that it had issued a notice to Sharma on July 16 to kibosh the illegal project.
