“India has formally conveyed to Pakistan that its Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will not attend the eighth finance ministers’ meeting of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (Saarc) in Islamabad later this week,” the Dawn wrote.
In the absence of Jaitley, Economic affairs secretary Shaktikanta Das is likely to represent India at the meet.
The decision reflects the escalating diplomatic tension between the two-nations over Kashmir unrest.
