Indian Air Force chief Arup Raha on Tuesday lauded the recently signed Rafale deal with France, saying any Air force will be proud to have an aircraft of Rafale class.
While addressing the press conference Air Force chief said, “We would like to have more Rafale fighters, however the decision will be taken in the near future depending on the capabilities.”
“Any Air force will be proud to have an aircraft of Rafale class. I am proud that the contract has been signed,” he added.
India and France signed the deal after much negotiation on September 23. The original deal of MMRCA was for procurement of 126 fighters. However, due to the high cost and technology transfer issues the deal was re-negotiated and India finally agreed to buy 36 aircraft.
