rajnath singhUnion Home Minister Rajanath Singh on Tuesday announced a new Reserve Battalion named after the great Rajput ruler Maharana Pratap.

“An Indian reserve battalion will be setup, which will be named Maharana Pratap reserve battalion,” Singh said while addressing a public meeting on the occasion of the 475th birth anniversary of Pratap in Rajastahn.

He also announced a new Global Counter Terrorism Centre at the Sardar Patel Police University in Jodhpur.

The announcement to set up a new reserve battalion is in line with the government’s decision to set up 17 Indian Reserve Battalions for Jammu and Kashmir and
Left-Wing extremism affected areas.
