The Enforcement Directorate (ED) sleuths on Wednesday issued summon to the wife of Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, Pratibha Singh in money-laundering case, officials said. She has been asked to appear before ED officials next week.
ED is investigating into the allegation that Singh and his family amassed Rs 6.1 crore between 2009 and 2011. This wealth is alleged to be disproportionate to his known sources of income while serving as the Union minister of steel.
The CBI FIR had named Singh, Pratibha Singh, Chauhan and his brother CL Chauhan and they were charged under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The chief minister and his wife are facing a CBI probe for alleged abuse of power, corruption and money laundering. The two children of Virbhadra Singh have also been probed by the ED in the case.
