A Delhi court on Friday adjourned the hearing on bail plea of AAP MLA Sharad Chauhan in connection with a case of a party woman worker’s alleged suicide and next hearing will be on August 8.
He has been remanded him in judicial custody till August 15, saying the investigation is at a nascent stage, after his bail plea got rejected on August 1.
Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Ashish Aggarwal dismissed the politician’s application and said sufficiency of material cannot be examined at this stage.
The court rejected the police plea of custody of Chauhan, an MLA from Narela, and co-accused — Sonu, Mohan Lal Verma, Delhi Police ASI Mukhtiyar Singh, Sanjay Kumar, Amit Kumar and Rajni and sent them to 14-day judicial custody.
It also remanded Ramesh Bhardwaj, who was arrested earlier, in judicial custody till August 15.
Chauhan, along with others, was arrested on July 30 and he is the 12th AAP MLA who was arrested.
