In what can be described as a ‘perfectly timed mistake’, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar while felicitating Olympic medal winner Sakshi Malik at an event in Haryana’s Bahadurgarh on Wednesday forgot the name of Badminton champ PV Sindhu.
During his speech, Khattar said that two of the country’s daughters- Sakshi Malik and ‘Sindhu from Karnataka’, gave India a beautiful gift on Raksha Bandhan.
While the Haryana CM forgot to mention Sindhu’s complete name, a helper from the back corrected him, following which he said ‘PV Sindhu from Karnataka.’
Khattar while congratulating Sakshi Malik and her her family announced a reward of Rs. 2.5 crores and a government job for Sakshi.
He also said that Malik would be the face of ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ initiative in Haryana.
