The Staff Selection Commission said that the Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGLE Tier-I) 2016 was conducted in a “fair and transparent” manner as always, so there will be just one re-test and the whole CGL exam will not be re-conducted.

He also urged to students in a statement to not to be affected by a “propaganda” by “vested interests”.

“The candidates can rest assured that the selection process through this examination, which is to be conducted in four tiers, would be entirely merit-based wherein only the most competent candidates would be selected to man important positions in the Government of India,” Khurana said on Wednesday.

Except in Srinagar, CGLE Tier-I exam was held between August 27 and September 11 across the country. In Srinagar, it was conducted on September 25. Out of 38.04 lakh registered candidates, 14.99 lakh appeared in 44 batches in 96 cities.
