Prime Minister Narendera Modi and Russian President signing Memorandums of Understanding between India and Russia at the BRICS summit 2016 in Goa.

Modi and Putin witness exchange of 16 agreements and 3 announcements across different fields.

“Ours is a truly privileged and unique relationship. I am aware of your (President Putin) deep affection for India, ours is a truly privileged and unique relationship,” said PM Modi.

PM Modi said, “We agreed to work on an annual military industrial conf that will allow stakeholders on both sides to institute & push collaboration. With Pres. Putin’s support we are willing to expand the scope of our relationship further. With an eye on the future we also agreed to setup a Science and Technology Commission”.

“We continue to expand, diversify & deepen economic engagement. Businesses, Industry between our countries is connected more deeply on October 15,” he added.

“The success of this summit highlights our (India-Russia) strong convergence of views on pressing issues, ” PM Modi said.

“Russia’s clear stand on the need to combat terrorism mirrors our own. We both agree on zero tolerance towards terrorism and also on the situation in Afghanistan. India & Russia are moving towards a bright future,” He added.

“In last 4 months alone,in Hydrocarbon sector,Indian companies have invested close to US$ 5.5 billion in Russia’s Oil &Gas sector,” Modi said.
