Fire has been raging across 13 districts since beginning of February.

Combination of high temperature and dry weather with winds blowing has resulted to spread of fire.

The worst affected district are Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Nainital, Bageshwar and Pauri Garhwal.

Due to Fire over 60 Hectares of forest was destroyed in Kedarnath Musk Deer Sanctuary.

The raging fire, forests in 3185.45 hectares have been blighted since February 2 but pre monsoon forest fires are not unusual with locals burning forests for timber

The Corbett Tiger Reserve and Kalagarh Tiger Reserve known for its Royal Bengal Tigers, 48 forest fire has destroyed around 260.9 hectares of the forest.
