NITISH KUMARAfter prohibiting the sale, consumption and storage of liquor in Bihar, Nitish government on Saturday banned the distribution, storage, manufacture, sale or publicity of ‘gutka’ and pan-masala containing tobacco or nicotine in the state for a period of one year.

The prohibition will come into effect from May 21.

Earlier, the Bihar government had imposed a total ban on the sale and consumption of liquor in the state from April 1.

While making the announcement about the liquor ban, CM Nitish Kumar had said that increasing liquor consumption was a major cause for domestic violence particularly against women.
