Following the footsteps of Haryana’s Jat community, now Members of the Bijnor-based Rawa Rajput Sewa Samiti, Uttar Pradesh have also raised the demand to be listed under the OBC quota.
According to reports, the community raised their demand on Sunday.
In their message to the government, they have stated that they will agitate in case their demands are not met.
Times of India quoted, Devendra Kumar, a member of Rawa Rajput Sewa Samiti who said that Rajputs account to only 7 percent of Uttar Pradesh’s population and are extremely backward.
A delegation from the community is scheduled to meet Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today, suggest reports.
