Proving exit polls right, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) swept the sure-shot victory at Assam Assembly Polls on Thursday.

However, taking a jibe over BJP, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar credited this win to Congress.

Nitish said ” Not much reason to celebrate for BJP, they won (in Assam) because Congress decided to contest alone.”

“Result are on the expected line, nothing surprising,”Kumar added.

In the state, the BJP and its allies were ahead in 89 constituencies. The ruling Congress was leading in 21 seats and the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) in 14.
