In more trouble for Aam Aadmi Party, National Women Commission has taken a serious note of the views expressed by party spokesperson Ashutosh in a blog, while defending former Minister Sandeep Kumar, dumped following surfacing of an objectionable CD.
The commission issued a notice to Ashutosh to seek clarification on views expressed in blog titled ‘The Sex Was Consensual, Private Act. Why AAP Punished Its Man. Ashutosh had wondered why Kumar was being punished as the leaked video clearly established that both individuals knew each other and consented to sex, which doesn’t amount to any crime.
In the blog, the AAP spokesperson, said that Indian history was full of examples of leaders, who have had affairs beyond social boundaries in their lives. He went on to name several prominent personalities, including Pt Jawaharlal Nehru, Mahatma Gandhi and Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Earlier on Saturday, the controversy surrounding Sandeep Kumar took a new twist after woman, seen with him in objectionable position in leaked CD, registered a rape case against him, following which he surrendered before the police.
The woman reached Sultanpuri Police station and lodged a complaint against Kumar, alleging that he drugged and sexually assaulted her. She added that she was not aware that Sandeep filmed the act. The AAP has suspended Kumar, Sultanpur Majra MLA, from primary membership in connection with the objectionable CD row. On the other hand, Kumar, decrying political conspiracy against him, has said he was being targeted because he was Dalit.
