Sparking a recent controversy, CPI (M) veteran leader VS Achuthanandan has alleged that more than 100 corruption cases are pending in Supreme Court against UDF Ministers.
Achuthanandan made the statement during an election campaign in Kerala.
Achuthanandan said that 31 cases are pending against Chief Minister Oommen Chandy in the Supreme Court and over 136 corruption cases against pending against 18 UDF Ministers.
According to reports, soon after Achuthanandan’s statement, a complaint was lodged against him, and CM Chandy issued a statement seeking apology from the veteran CPI (M) for his ‘blatant lies’.
The CM further alleged that “Achuthanandan is using his election campaign to spread blatant lies.
To elect representatives of the 140 constituencies in Kerala, the general election for the fourteenth legislative assembly will be held on May 16, 2016.
