MODIJIIn a move to appease minorities, Narendra Modi government in the Centre is set to hold “progress panchayats” among Muslims and dalits ahead of assembly polls to crucial states, including Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat.

The first panchayat will be held in Mewat area of Haryana and it will presided over by Union minorities affairs minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi.

BJP sources said that Naqvi would travel to other states over the next three to four months to hold “progressive panchayats” to dispel myths about NDA.
