The death toll in Mumbai-Goa highway bridge collapse on Friday rose to fourteen as the authorities recovered ten more dead bodies.

The bridge, more than seven decades old and a critical link to the Mumbai-Goa national highway, crashed around 1 a.m. on Wednesday due to the flood waters rushing into the river.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra government on Thursday announced the Rs 10 lakh compensation for people who died in Mumbai-Goa bridge Collapse on Wednesday.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also ordered a judicial probe into the Mahad bridge collapse following which three persons drowned and 19 others are missing.
