The Juvenile Justice Board on Tuesday rejected the bail plea of teenager who was accused of hitting and killing a 34-year-old with his father’s Mercedes in the national capital earlier this month.
The Juvenile Justice Board said that juvenile is a repeat offender. Parents gave him a car which endangered lives of others, it’s bad parenting, reports ANI.
The class 12th student who turned 18 just four days after the incident, was allegedly driving at a speed of 80 kmph when his car hit Siddharth Sharma near Ludlow Castle School in north Delhi’s Civil Lines locality.
The accused surrendered before the police on April 10 and was sent to a juvenile justice home.
The incident took place on April 4 when marketing executive Siddharth Sharma was trying to cross a road near Ludlow Castle School and the speeding Mercedes hit him.
Accused father was also taken into custody for abetting the crime but was later granted bail.
The CCTV footage of the accident had also gone viral on social media.
