Four men, including an auto-driver, were injured after a speeding BMW car crashed into their auto-rickshaw on G M Palya Road in Indiranagar on Saturday.
The BMW driver was under the alcohol influence when the mishap took place. Though he didn’t reveal details of the accident, driver was arrested by Indiranagar traffic police.
A senior police officer said that the accused has been identified as Samrat Chadda, who claimed that he is vice-president of UB group.
According to media reports, the complainant Manikanta said that around 11.30am, he was heading towards his home in Thippasandra along with auto driver Sudha Mohan and one Govardhan and Manjunath, when Chadda overtook two vehicles from the left side and rammed into the auto.
All four travelling in auto were thrown off while the auto was completely crushed.
As per a report in Express, when the online daily contacted the spokesperson of UB, he said, “We are verifying details of Samrat. The name is in our employees’ list.”
