Terming pollution in Delhi as “dreaded”, “severe” and “disaster”, Supreme Court asked for the response from the Centre on its policy to tackle the current situation of increasing pollution in the state capital in 48 hours (by Thursday).

The Apex court has asked central government to come up with a Common Minimum Programme, meeting the deadline of 48 hours on how to tackle the prevailing situation in the state capital.

Supreme Court had also noted down the suggestions submitted by by Sunita Narain, the Environment Pollution Control Authority (EPCA) and other parties concerned.

Earlier, NGT had also banned the construction activities for a week in Delhi and NCR (National Capital Region), in order to control the rising pollution.
