Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Bhopal to inaugrate a war memorial “Shaurya Samarak” and he will also address ex-servicemen in ‘Shaurya Samman Sabha’.
Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar is also accompanying PM Modi at the inauguration.
“The inauguration is happening at time when our soldiers displayed their extraordinary valour on Sep 29 (SurgicalStrike),” said Manohar Parrikar

Addressing ex-servicemen in ‘Shaurya Samman Sabha’, PM Modi said, “It is my privilege that I have the opportunity to pay my tributes to our brave soldiers here on this historic day.”
“While extending help, my soldiers did not for once think that these are the same people who pelt stones at them,” he added.
“It is the call of humanity that inspires our armed forces when they’re helping people during natural disasters.Nothing else matters,” said Modi
“When we think of armed forces, we remember their bravery and also their role during a natural disaster,” Modi added.
“India is one of the biggest contributors to the UN peacekeeping forces. While rescuing Indians in Yemen, Indian army also rescued a few Pakistanis, this is the example of humanity of our Indian army,” Modi said.
“Army, BSF, CRPF, Coast Guard jawans sacrifice their lives so that we can sleep peacefully. About 1.5 lakhs Indian soldiers fought and lost their lives during the two World Wars. World must never forget this,” he added.
“The biggest strength & weapon of our army is its determination & will power & that is derived from the support of 1.2 billion people,” he added.
“Like our army doesn’t say but displays its valour, similarly our Defence Minister also doesn’t speak,” said PM.
