A day after fireworks display turned fatal at Puttingal temple in Kerala’s Kollam, five workers have been questioned and the team of crime branch has taken over the investigation.
According to reports, houses of contractors and committee members were raided on Sunday evening.
One contractor lost his life in the explosion while the other suffered injuries and is in the hospital.
The firework display at the temple was the part of the concluding day of the seven-day ‘Meena Bharani’ festivities that was underway at the temple.
However, it turned fatal as it rocketed out of control at 3.30am on Sunday, killing 112 people and incinerating and wounding nearly 400 others.
Reports claim that the firework display was held without prior permission from district authorities.
