The ‘Nirbhay Yatra’ commenced by BJP leader Sangeet Som, who was an accused in 2013 Muzaffarnagar riots, has been halted on his way.
Som on Friday went ahead with the ‘Nirbhay Yatra’ in Meerut, in spite of BJP state President telling him not to hold hold the yatra.
“BJP workers won’t do anything which will affect law & order of state, will stall Yatra at places where Section 144 has been imposed,” Sangeet Som.
With this rally, Som wants to instil confidence in people, who are staying in fear due to the “communal atmosphere being created” by some political parties.
While speaking to media, Som said, “We have given a 15-days notice to state Govt to bring back families who’ve migrated or we’ll be forced to come on streets.”
