West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi during her Jan Aakrosh rally in Kolkata and said that she will ensure his ouster from politics over demonetisation that is causing several problems for the poor.

“I will remove PM Modi from politics,” thundered Banerjee in front of a huge crowd of people who had come out in support of TMC’s rally.

Banerjee also demanded an immediate rollback of the demonetisation scheme and chanted ‘Modi sarkar Hai Hai’ slogans.
“Dictatorship won’t work,” Mamata told a sea of protesters who chanted along with her.
Several Opposition parties participated in a 12-hour general strike to protest the harassment faced by people following the Union government’s demonetisation move.
After 20 days since Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement demonetising old Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes, protests are continuing across the country. Opposition parties selected November 28 (Monday) for coordinated nationwide protests. While some term the protests ‘Bharat Bandh’ others call it ‘Jan Aakrosh Divas’.
