The Central Bureau Of Investigation (CBI) on Monday sought more time to file chargesheet against Chhota Rajan in J Dey Murder case.
According to reports, CBI mentioned in Special CBI court that during investigation some evidences were found against some other person also.
Dey was shot dead in Powai on June 11, 2011, when he was on his way home on his motorcycle. The Mumbai crime branch, which investigated the case, had booked 11 people in the case, including journalist Jigna Vora.
One of the accused, Vinod Asrani, passed away recently. According to the crime branch case, the conspiracy to kill Dey was hatched at the behest of Rajan.
CBI had taken over investigations recently, after filing a fresh first information report (FIR) as per the procedure.
The CBI officials have filed a case under sections 302 of the Indian Penal Code (punishment for murder) and section 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) in addition to the relevant sections of the Arms Act.
