IMD Predicts 'Above Normal' Monsoon For 2016; Drought-Hit Maharashtra To Get Relief
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted an above normal monsoon this year.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted an above normal monsoon this year.

The prediction has been released by Director General Laxman Singh Rathore, and this one is, perhaps, his last weather forecast as the IMD chief. He said, “Temperature before onset of monsoon is going to be above normal.”

Rathore is likely to superannuate in coming months. The Southwest Monsoon, which is considered as the lifeline of the Indian sub-continent, is expected to be normal this year.

Skyment, a private weather forecasting agency, has predicted an above normal monsoon this year.
