Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal speaks in a Special Assembly

A furore erupted in a special assembly called by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday after he moved a resolution in a urging the President to direct the centre to withdraw the demonetisation scheme introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Angry legislators shouted anti-Modi slogans resulting in the Assembly being briefly adjourned by assembly speaker, Ram Niwas Goel.

The emergency session Delhi Assembly, which has 67 AAP MLAs and three BJP legislators was called by Delhi CM Kejriwal who claimed that “Demonetisation has created an atmosphere of emergency in the country.”

During the assembly, Delhi CM Kejriwal condemned “the way PM has chosen to demonetize currency” and “urged President to withdraw the draconian demonetisation rule.”
