Black Day Protests in PoK
Black Day Protests in PoK

A video has gone viral which has shown proof of Pakistani Police brutality as they thrash protesters to silence `Black Day` protests in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

October 22 is usually observed as a “Black Day” by people in PoK as this was the day in 1947 when the Pakistani Army attacked the princely undivided state of Jammu and Kashmir disguised as tribal invaders. Every year, people in PoK observe Black Day by demanding immediate withdrawal of Pakistani forces from their territory.

“We want freedom. Pakistan should withdraw its forces from Kashmir at once, we can’t take it anymore,” a protester was quoted as saying.

Another protestor added “Pakistan is unable to take care of itself. Wherever (Pakistan Prime Minister) Nawaz Sharif goes, (Chief of Army Staff General) Raheel Sharif’s shadow accompanies him.”

After attacking the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir in 1947, Pakistani forces in the guise of tribals indulged in unprecedented plunder and the killing of innocents where at least thousands of people were killed, women were raped and even more others were abducted.

Pakistan-occupied Kashmir does have a Prime Minister and President but is ruled from Islamabad.
