The Nobel laureate has urged the United Nations and the Indian and Pakistan authorities to put a stop to the agitation in the valley.

According to Dawn, in a statement, she said, “The Kashmiri people, like people everywhere, deserve their fundamental human rights. They should live free from fear and repression. I call on the United Nations, the international community and India and Pakistan to work together with utmost urgency to right these wrongs, providing the people of Kashmir with the dignity, respect and freedom they deserve.”

The activist also deplored the use of pellet guns and has said that the violence and restrictions in the state gravely impact the students in the state.
