Those Responsible For Uri Attack Will Be Punished: PM Modi
Gujarat Dalit rights leader Jignesh Mevani was “picked up” by Gujarat police from Ahmedabad airport on Friday evening, hours before Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed for a two-day state visit as part of his birthday celebrations.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday condemned the killing of 17 soldiers in Jammu and Kashmir and said those responsible for it will not go unpunished.

“We strongly condemn the cowardly terror attack in Uri. I assure the nation that those behind this despicable attack will not go unpunished,” Modi tweeted.

“We salute all those martyred in Uri. Their service to the nation will always be remembered. My thoughts are with the bereaved families,” he said.

Modi said he had talked to both Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar.

A terror attack on an army camp at Uri left 17 soldiers dead. Four terrorists were also killed.
