Lieutenant General Satish Dua in an interview to the media today urged people to ‘give peace a chance’ in the ‘war-torn’ Kashmir valley.
“I want to appeal to the youth to introspect, like the CM said ‘give peace a chance,” he said in a statement today.

Talking about the rising protests in the valley, he said that, “After July 8, there were spontaneous protests, but of late we are seeing engineered protests.”
Lt. Gen Dua said that he has ordered the jawans to ‘exercise restraint to the last’, while adding that many soldiers get injured due to stone-pelting, however the Army doesn’t have non-lethal weapons to respond.
“There are so many stitches and injuries to Army soldiers due to stone pelting, we don’t have non-lethal weapons to respond,” he said.
