At least two policemen were killed and four others were injured when militants attacked a police check-post in south Kashmir’s Anantnag town on Saturday.

“Two policemen, an Assistant Sub-Inspector and a Constable, have been martyred in the attack while four others were injured.”

“The injured have been shifted for treatment to a hospital. The area has been surrounded for searches.”

The attack comes a day after three BSF troopers were killed and seven others were injured in a guerrilla strike on a BSF convoy on Jammu-Srinagar national highway in Bijbehara town in Anantnag.
