Stone-Pelting-KashmirFresh Protests broke out in Srinagar after the Friday prayers at the Jamia Masjid as the youngsters waved ISIS flags. Soon after the prayers people were seen raising Pakistan’s flag and also pelted stones. These protests have erupted just days after the warning of army chief Bipin Rawat.

While giving an interview on Wednesday, army chief Bipin Rawat had said, “Those who obstruct our operations during encounters and are not supportive will be treated as overground workers of terrorists.” He gave these remarks after paying tribute to the army jawans who martyred in an encounter with terrorists in J&K on Tuesday. Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also paid homage the soldiers, including a Major, who were martyred in two separate encounters.

Rawat’s statement gained criticism from political parties for having the same stand against everyone. However, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar has supported Rawat and said that his recent warning to stone pelters in Kashmir was justified.
Meanwhile on Thursday, an Islamic State suicide bomber struck inside a sufi shrine in Pakistan killing at least 100 people in the deadliest attack in the country in more than two years.
