Jammu and Kashmir Governor NN Vohra is likely to be replaced by the Centre. The possible replacement comes to be former home secretary Anil Baijal as the front-runner.
Earlier Baijal was in the executive council of the think-tank Vivekananda International Foundation, several of whose former members have been appointed to senior positions by the Modi government.
However, Baijal, who is in Paris, has declined to confirm to The Sunday Express if he had been approached by the government for the governor’s position.
The names of BJP leader and Lt Gen (retd) Syed Ata Hasnain are also doing the rounds for the job are a who earlier commanded an Army Corps in J&K.
