Supreme Court To Hear States' Review Pleas Against Verdict On Govt Advertisements
Demonetisation: SC To Examine Constitutional Validity Of Nov 8 Notification

The Supreme Court on Friday said that it would hear a batch of pleas challenging demonetisation on December 2.

The apex court said it would also examine the inconvenience aspect and constitutional validity of the November 8 notification on demonetisation.

When the matter came up for hearing on Friday, senior advocate and Congress leader, Kapil Sibal prayed that the matter be heard by a five judge bench of the Supreme Court.

The Advocate General Mukul Rohatgi, however, said that there was no need for a five judge bench to hear the matter. He also told the court that an affidavit was placed on what steps were taken in the aftermath of the decision.
