Sonia Gandhi will continue to be the president of the party for another year which means that the anointment of Rahul has been further delayed. This was decided in the crucial CWC meet presided over by Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi.
In a rare instance, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Monday chaired the crucial meet of the party leaders on Monday as party president Sonia Gandhi stayed away because she is unwell.
In his opening address, Rahul told the CWC that Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government was ‘obsessed with power and seems to silence all those who disagree’. He also criticised the detention of opposition leaders last week including Rahul Gandhi and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal.
