CPI(M) Worker Hacked To Death In Kerala's Kannur
A 38-year-old CPI(M) worker was allegedly hacked to death by an unidentified gang at Payyanur here, police said on Tuesday.

A 38-year-old CPI(M) worker was allegedly hacked to death by an unidentified gang at Payyanur here, police said on Tuesday.

The assailants who came in a jeep and motorcycles attacked Dhanaraj, a native of Kunnaru in the district, with machetes around 10.30 p.m. on Monday when he was entering his house, police said.

Though he was rushed to Pariyaram Medical College Hospital by locals, he succumbed on the way, they said.

Police suspect the murder was related to the political violence in the district post elections.

Police have registered a case and are investigating.
