Latika Bansal, the 15 year old daughter of a woman who was burnt alive by her husband, has written a letter in blood to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav demanding justice on Saturday.
Latika, and her 11 year old sister had previously written to Yadav on June 14, they alleged that they witnessed their mother being set on fire by their father and a few others for never birthing a son.
They alleged that Bulandshahr police had not arrested any other accused named in the FIR, barring their father Manoj Bansal, and had diluted the allegation in the FIR, police said.
Disappointed by the lack of efforts from the police, the sisters sought help on social media to highlight their plight.
SP Maan Singh Chauhan has undertaken an investigation for the other culprits involved and has recommended the sisters’ request for financial assistance to the concerned authorities.
