In yet another big bolt to the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Swami Prasad Maurya, who quit the party on June 22 this year, will soon be joining the Bharatiya Janta Party (BSP).
According to reports, the joining will take place in New Delhi on August 8.
Earlier in June, BSP supremo Mayawati had launched a sharp attack on Maurya saying that he was “disloyal” and worked for “selfish interest”.
“He was disloyal to the party and to his own community. He worked for selfish interest and not for his community,” the BSP supremo had said.
Reacting to Mayawati’s allegations, Maurya had in-turn accused her of “betraying” the mission of Dalit leaders B R Ambedkar and Kanshi Ram.
“It is she who has made a mockery of Baba Saheb (Ambedkar) and Kanshi Ram’s ideology…she has betrayed Ambedkar and Kanshi Ram and murdered their ideology,” Maurya had said.
