The Lok Sabha Committee, that had been constituted to probe the parliamentary video case of controversial Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Bhagwant Mann, on Wednesday rejected the leader’s plea to appear before the committee with his lawyer.
The committee has asked Mann to appear before it by 3 PM tomorrow.
Earlier on Tuesday, Mann, in a move to downplay the controversy surrounding him roped in Prime Minister Narendra Modi by demanding his suspension for compromising on national security by allowing Pakistan probe team to visit the Pathankot airbase as a part of its investigation to probe the terror attack on the airbase this year.
“I would like to ask wasn’t the nation’s security put at stake when Pakistan’s security agency came and Prime Minister Narendra Modi allowed them inside the Pathankot base. Prime Minister Modi should also be asked to appear before a committee, he should also be suspended from the Parliament,” he said in a statement yesterday.
