Hitting back at Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Congress on Friday accused Modi government of shielding AgustaWestland.

Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala on Friday said äctually the only person who is protecting #AgustaWestland, is Narendra Modi Govt for the last two years.”

Surjewala asked”why is Modi Govt protecting bribe-giving co. #AgustaWestland? Why not do anything for two years when CBI conduced inquiry?”

The Congress spokesperson alleged, Modi Govt sanctioned Foreign Investment Promotion Board permission on 8th Oct 2015 to Indian Rotorcraft Company, which is a partnership between the Tatas and AgustaWestland.

On the other hand countering Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday accused the Congress party of running away from the contentious issue. BJP leader Nalin Kohli said that Congress is avoiding the fundamental question as to ‘who has received the bribe money?’.
