A Delhi Court on Monday dismissed bail plea of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Sharad Chauhan in connection with suicide of a female AAP volunteer Soni Mishra, sent him to judicial custody for 14 days.

A Delhi Court on Monday dismissed bail plea of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Sharad Chauhan in connection with suicide of a female AAP volunteer Soni Mishra, sent him to judicial custody for 14 days.

Chauhan has been booked for allegedly abetting the suicide of a woman party volunteer who consumed poison earlier this month.

Six others, including Chauhan’s personal assistant and a Delhi Police Assistant Sub-Inspector, were also arrested.

The AAP blamed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the arrest.

Ramesh Bharadwaj, a close associate of Chauhan, had allegedly molested the woman last December and had been threatening her using Chauhan’s name.
