‘Shakti- Astitva Ke Ehsaas’ was lauded by many as the Colors’ TV serial took upon the transgender cause. However, the show has made a U-turn. As it turns out, the show’s lead, Soumya, portrayed by Rubina Dilaik, may not be a transgender at all!

According to a BollywoodLife report, Soumya is not a transgender. The story unfolds a new plot as it delves into the past, revealing that Soumya is not Nimmi’s transgender child and was exchanged shortly after birth. The show will now shift focus to Nimmi’s actual child who is rumoured to appear soon.

The show will now develop the romance between Soumya and Vivian Dsena’s character, Harman. Apparently, taking up a social cause that inspires a sect that has been victimised is less important than romance between two leads. Well, what else could be expect from an Indian daily soap on Colors after the downfall of Balika Vadhu.
