Actors Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner, who play sisters on the popular HBO TV Series Game of Thrones, share quite a sisterly bond themselves.
Earlier this week, Maisie and Sophie got matching tattoos, to celebrate the love the two share for each other and fans have not stopped talking about it ever since.
Maisie was spotted at the annual BAFTA Tea Party recently with what seemed like a dash of black ink on her left forearm. When looked upon closely, it ink bar was revealed to be a date, ‘07.08.09’.
Their tattoo artist Miss Kat Paine, who works at Belfast City Skinworks in northern Ireland, had also shared a photo with the two actresses on Facebook. Although, we haven’t laid our eyes on Turner’s tattoo yet, the artist has confirmed that the two tattoos had a stark resemblance (pun intended).
So, what is so special about ‘07.08.09’? We’ll tell you. Well, Maisie will.
“It’s the 7th of August and not the 8th of July — because in the UK we put our dates the other way around. It was the day I found out I got the part in Game of Thrones,” she says.
The date holds great significance for the two as it was through the show that the two were introduced, because of that fateful day.
“She found out then as well but we didn’t know each other then so it’s quite a prominent date for both of us. It’s a day that both of our lives changed forever,” Williams added.
Unlike sisters Arya and Sansa, who haven’t met ever since that dreadful day in front of the Sept of Baelor, Williams and Turner have stuck together through thick and thin.
Let’s just hope that the Stark sisters get to share a bond quite like these two when the show premieres in Summer 2017.
