36-year old Murali Mangilal Mundhera and 41-year-old Mahesh Khetwani proved to the Bollywood that they know acting better than its young generation.
The two posed as I-T officers for long and managed to extort sums ranging from Rs 35,000 to Rs 75,000 from the young actors of the tinsel town.
They were arrested last month after a Bollywood producer registered an extortion complaint against them with the Anti-Extortion Cell (AEC) of the Mumbai Crime Branch.
According to reports, after the arrest, they revealed that they managed to dupe some top film stars including Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor and Tiger Shroff, by posing as tax officers.
They said that the actors, fearing I-T raids, often agreed to pay the amount as per their demand.
