The sanskaari Censor Board has again put his scissor hands to use. This time it is around Karan Johar’s Baar Baar Dekho.
According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, Baar Baar Dekho has got a ‘U/A’ certificate from Censor Board, however they have snipped bra shot from the film.
A source from the film said, “Are we living in the Victorian era when women’s innerwear was never spoken of in public? Years ago in 1995 there was a bra shot featuring Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan. And Baar Baar Dekho is directed by a woman. So the chances of lingerie being used to titillate the audience are nil.”
The report further suggests that Censor Board refused to certify the film until the offensive shot was removed. Besides bra shot, another shot which had a reference to Savita Bhabhi, a comic book porn character, has also demanded to be removed.
This is not the first time that CBFC has removed scenes from any film. Recently, Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Udta Punjab’ was in controversy after CBFC asked to delete major chunks of the film.
Baar Baar Dekho is slated to hit the screens on September 9.
