The lone Indian Mobile manufacturer in the global smartphone market Micromax has introduced a new phone that it claims is "the thinnest as well as the lightest phone" ever.
Canvas Silver 5
The smartphone is just 5.1 mm thick from end to end, making it one of the slimmest phones and at 97 grams it is also the lightest phone ever.

The Micromax Canvas Silver 5 is priced at Rs 17,999, and comes with a 4.8 inch AMOLED display, powered by a quad core Snapdragon 410 processor and 2 GB RAM., with 16GB in-built space, with no SD card support.

The Canvas 5 will take on the Xiaomi Mi4i and the Moto E 4G, here's a look at how the phone fares in comparision to it's competitors.
The Chinese tech-giant Xiaomi's Mi4i priced at Rs12,499 which is around Rs 5,000 less then the Canvas 5 comes with almost identical features.

5 inch Full HD Sunlight Display with pixel density of 441P with 1.7 GHz, 2nd generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core chipset with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB ROM, which is expandable.
Moto E 4G
This Motorola phone is priced at Rs 7,999, has almost identical features to the Canvas 5, but is priced at less then half of it.
The Moto E 4G is packed with the latest 64-bit Snapdragon 410 quad-core CPU and a 4.5-inch 960×540P display with 8GB of internal memory storage, expandable up to 32GB.

All of these phones come with in-built 4G connectivity and all run on the latest Android Lollipop operating system.
Personally, i would not put in 5000 or 10,000 rupees extra for same features, but if you are a fan of Make in India, then you can be a proud owner of the World's slimmest and lightest smartphone.
