A Jet Airways flight was aborted to take off as five unidentified flying objects(UFO) were reportedly seen flying over Mumbai airport's airspace on Saturday, in what is being looked as a security breach.
It is now being reported that the Prime Minister's office has asked multiple agencies to investigate the incident including Indian Air Force, Indian Navy, Intelligence Bureau and the Mumbai police.
On Saturday evening, around 6 pm, five unidentified flying objects (UFO) were seen approaching in the flight path of Jet Airway's 9W 323 that was to fly from Mumbai to Ahmedabad. These UFOs were flying from the southwest direction of the Mumbai International Airport, moving towards north-east along the direction of the wind. It is not yet confirm if they were parachutes or Chinese lanterns.
Mumbai police is investigating the matter and said that there are strong chances of them being Chinese lanterns.
According to reports, police said that since the airport runway is close to Juhu beach where these Chinese lanterns are commonly sold on weekends, there is a possibility that they traveled towards airspace owing to the direction of the wind.
Initially, they were mistaken as paragliders by the pilot and the flight was aborted for safety purposes.
