In a major good news for all central government employees, the Secretaries group is ready to submit its review report on the Seventh Pay Commission, with the intention of boosting the pay scales.
The 7th Pay Commission Review Committee, led by a group Secretaries, is likely to submit its report to the Finance Ministry once the elections are over.
According to reports, the highest salary for central government employees is likely to be fixed at Rs. 2,70,000, which is twenty thousand more than the prescribed upper limit; while the lowest salary is likely to be fixed at Rs. 21,000, which is three thousand more than the lower prescribed limit.
The Secretaries group is also likely to propose a fitment factor of 3 for all employees, unlike factor of 2.57 to 2.81 recommended by the 7th CPC.
Subject to acceptance by the government, these pay scales will be effective from January 1, 2016 for all central government employees.
