Ssangyong, a Mahindra owned automaker, has been working on a replacement for the Rexton for some time now and previously the carmaker had also revealed the LIV-2 concept at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. The LIV-2 was going to be the base line for the new SUV.
However, the production version of the car will be unveiled at the upcoming Seoul Motor Show, but the final sketch of the Mahindra’s upcoming car has been revealed and doing the rounds on internet. The new car will be launched with a Mahindra badge for the Indian market.
According to the sources, the new car will sit above the XUV500 in company’s line-up and is currently going by the code name Y400.
The Y400 SUV will be almost identical to the new Rexton, except for a few design elements like the front grille.
The new car is expected to be showcased in India by the end of 2017 or at the 2018 Auto Expo, soon after it gets revealed at Seoul Motor Show.
